My son will be 3 yrs the end of Feb and has until recently, this week, taken a nap one day then no nap the next - so on.  Until this week he has always taken a nap for 2.5-3 hours starting at 1230-1pm.  On the days he does not nap he is still in a pretty good mood and is pretty well bahaved and his regular bedtime is not an issue.

I feel that he is still too young to not take a nap, however I cant force him to sleep as he gets out of bed on those days maybe 8 times in an hour or so.  Then I get him dressed.  In the meantime I have to get his 1 year old brother to down for his 2nd nap (which is not a problem, but still has to be done so I cant have a toddler running around laughing upstairs).

Thoughts?  Should I keep his nap time the same?  Push it back to 1 or 130, work it back in 15 mins segments?  He is up for the morning at 6-630am.

Thanks for any help from anyone!

Since you have another son who is napping regularly, now make nap time "quiet time" instead.  Tell him he can either sleep or play quietly but he will need to stay in his room until you let him out of quiet time.  If he doesn't follow the rules you will also have to create a consequence like take away something because it will need to be a rule now.  It's important to have that down time during the day playing quietly considering how busy the day really is.  Everyone can benefit for some quiet time that they do with what they wish.  Give it a shot and if he doesn't sleep, then you will want to put him to bed around 6pm.
